Tom Holland Hints At What Spidey’s Doing After Homecoming

Landing a role in a Hollywood movie was always exciting, but it’s never been more exciting than it is today. After all, one major movie usually grows into several major movies—with new opportunities emerging all the time. That’s especially true in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, where just about every character is eligible for every movie the studio makes. Marvel’s superhero stock company is already stretched quite thin, but the studio plans to pick up the pace, unleashing no less than three movies a year for the next three years.

One of the latest additions to the team is 20-year-old British actor Tom Holland. He hasn’t logged much screen time as Spider-Man just yet, but he did make a memorable appearance in Captain America: Civil War, and Spider-Man: Homecoming is on track for a summer 2017 release. But before Marvel can make a second Spidey movie, they have to extend their arrangement with Sony. While a deal has yet to be announced, Holland is confident that he’ll be back for more. “My next project, I can’t tell you about,” he told WWD, before offering some very specific hints. “We’ve just finished Spider-Man and we’re talking about the second one and who the villain is going to be and where we’re going.”

You know what’s shocking about this news? Absolutely nothing. Nobody expected Marvel and Sony to make just one Spider-Man movie. However, there’s still some uncertainty about the character’s involvement in Avengers: Infinity War—and Holland isn’t offering much clarification. “It’s all up in the air,” he told Variety. “I believe some sort of deal is in the mix, but I’m unclear as to what that deal is.”

Whether Holland is involved or not, Avengers: Infinity War arrives in theatres on May 4, 2018. In the meantime, you can revisit Holland’s Captain America: Civil War appearance below. For way more Holland, check out Spider-Man: Homecoming when it arrives in theatres on July 7, 2017.
