6 Supernatural Stars You Forgot Were In Disney Channel Original Movies

Thursdays 8/5p

While Supernatural is certainly not a TV show for children, several of its cast appeared in Disney Channel movies in the late ’90s and early ’00s. A couple of the actors don’t look that much different in their DCOM roles than they do now, but others will definitely make you do a double take.

Their roles varied, from playing leading men, villains and even the goofy dorks who were in that one random scene. Prepare for all the nostalgia feels, because we’re about to go traveling down memory lane.

1. Jared Padalecki

Sam Winchester himself starred in A Ring of Endless Light, playing Mischa Barton’s troubled friend Zachary Gray. A love triangle formed between Barton, Padalecki and Ryan Merriman’s characters, because why not. Padalecki did a #FBF on Instagram back in October, laughing at his appearance in the film. That hair though.

2. Ty Olsson

Benny Lafitte, Dean’s vampire friend from Purgatory, played a bad guy in the superhero movie Up, Up, and Away! He helped Kevin Connolly’s character brainwash an entire middle school, until a family of superheroes fly in to stop them. Olsson also had a minor role in “H-E Double Hockey Sticks,” which aired on Disney Channel in the early ’00s.

3. Jake Abel

Adam Milligan—who’s STILL stuck in Hell, by the way—played heartthrob Spencer, a student assistant coach for the school’s hockey team, in Go Figure. According to Abel’s IMDb page, this was his first professional acting role, and bb Jake is everything.

4. Travis Wester

While The Paper Brigade is technically a Disney Channel Premiere Film, not an Original one, it still aired on Disney Channel all the time in the late ’90s and early ’00s. So, we’re counting it. Geeky Ghostfacer Harry Spangler actually played lead bully Chad in this ’96 classic. Besides the 180 degree change in persona from this film and his recurring role on “Supernatural,” Wester sported a ponytail in The Paper Brigade. And somehow, he managed to actually rock it.

5. A.J. Buckley

Ed Zeddmore, the other Ghostfacer who irriated the crap out of the Winchesters, had a small role as Jimmy Bottles in Motocrossed. He was the weirdo clerk who kept seeing double as twins Andi and Andrew Carson kept popping in and out of the motorcycle shop.

6. Timothy Omundson

The infamous Cain was originally an evil leprechaun in The Luck of the Irish, stealing Ryan Merriman’s lucky gold coin and playing against him in a basketball game. At the end of the film, he goes full leprechaun, complete with pointy ears and fiery, orange hair. We will never look at Cain the same way again.
