Here’s When You Can Own Star Wars: The Force Awakens

Very good news for pretty much every human being in the galaxy: Star Wars: The Force Awakens arrives on Digital HD in less than a month and Blu-ray in juuust over a month. This couldn’t come at a better time because seeing all those effects clips at the Oscars really made us want to re-re-re-watch it.


On April 1 (we hope this isn’t an April fool’s joke), J.J. Abrams’ epic space odyssey will be available to download and own on Digital HD, and on April 5 it will arrive in an extras-loaded Blu-ray Combo Pack. Yes, extra-loaded means there will be extras, including “in-depth documentary and bonus material that will take fans on an exciting journey behind the scenes. Secrets will be revealed through extensive footage, never-before-seen deleted scenes, and exclusive interviews with the actors and filmmakers.”

Disney also conveniently provided a breakdown of every goodie you can expect on the BD/DVD Combo Pack, and they are:

If you want to get crazy technical, Blu-ray audio will be English 7.1 DTS-HDMA, English 2.0 Descriptive Audio, French and Spanish 5.1 Dolby Digital Language Tracks; available dubbed languages will be English, French, and Spanish; and subtitles will be English SDH, French, and Spanish. Why stop there? The PG movie will run 136 minutes and with an aspect ratio of 2.40:1.
