The 5 Best Celebrity Cameos In Sharknado: The Fourth Awakens

The Sharknado franchise was back with another chainsaw-filled movie last Sunday on Space and, like its predecessors, The Fourth Awakens was packed with celebrity cameos. Okay, we’re using the term “celebrity” a bit loosely here but there were some very familiar faces—both famous and infamous. These are five of our favourites:

Gilbert Gottfried as Storm Chaser Ron. Gottfried races around in the Today show’s specially designed “mobile van-cam studio” with the aim of getting as close to a Sharknado as possible while giving viewers the latest news on what’s been sucked into the tornado (eg. cows, nuclear energy, sand, boulder, lava). All in that unmistakable voice.

Carrot Top as an obnoxious Uber driver made even more obnoxious by the fact that he does Carrot Top’s own brand of outsized prop comedy. Ugh. You’re more afraid for Ian Ziering’s character when he’s inside CT’s cab then when he’s outside in a Sharknado.

Stacey Dash as the mayor of Chicago. Dash, who we can’t recall seeing in a role since Clueless, has become more famous for her outspoken (and borderline insane) political views than for her acting. It’s funny to see her in the role held by former Obama White House chief of staff, Rahm Emanuel.

Wayne Newton as a Vegas lounge singer that no one cares about anymore. Just singing his heart out in a hallway, praying that someone will recognize him. It’s the saddest part of the movie.

David Hasselhoff’s Former Baywatch co-stars Gena Lee Nolin and Alexandra Paul as high-ranking Astro-X scientists who still run like they’re on the beach. Hasselhoff’s daughters, Hayley and Taylor-Anne, were also in the movie. Basically, if you know David Hasselhoff, you can be in Sharknado.
