Orphan Black Wins Big At The 2017 Canadian Screen Awards


Clink your glasses, Clone Club, because Orphan Black took home nine Canadian Screen Awards (a.k.a. the Candys) last night, leading with 14 nominations and winning Best Dramatic Series for the third time.

Tatiana Maslany made back-to-back trips to the Sony Centre stage for three awards, including Best Actress in Film for The Other Half, Best Performance by an Actress in a Continuing Leading Dramatic Role in Orphan Black (which marks her fourth Candy for the role), and Best Dramatic Series.

Maslany won three-for-three out of her nominations, but the night was clearly about this “weird little family”:

– Best Dramatic Series
– Best Performance by an Actor in a Featured Supporting Role: Kevin Hanchard
– Best Writing in a Dramatic Series: Graeme Manson
– Best Performance by an Actress in a Continuing Leading Dramatic Role: Tatiana Maslany
– Best Direction in a Dramatic Series: John Fawcett
– Best Original Music Score: Trevor Yuile
– Best Picture Editing: Jay Prychidny
– Best Photography: Aaron Morton
– Best Production Design: John Dondertman, Elizabeth Calderhead

The series has just about wrapped filming its firth and final season. Looks like Maslany’s  still representing Cosima because she was even sporting one of her tattoos.
