A Fifth Indiana Jones Flick Is Officially Headed To Theatres In 2019

Looks like Dr. Jones will be dusting off his iconic whip and fedora yet again, as Disney just unveiled plans for a fifth Indian Jones film. (They truly were a mile off when called part three The Last Crusade.)

Like Indy’s four prior big screen outings, this one will star Harrison Ford as the titular archaeologist/adventurer and will also be directed by Steven Spielberg, who kicked off the franchise with 1981’s Raiders of the Lost Ark. Series vets Kathleen Kennedy (who’s now in charge of Lucasfilm) and Frank Marshall will also return to produce.

The film is slated for a July 19, 2019 release, so you’ve got plenty of time to brush up on Indy’s past adventures, which pitted him against:

A crazy cult

More Nazis

And Soviets

“Indiana Jones is one of the greatest heroes in cinematic history, and we can’t wait to bring him back to the screen in 2019,” said Walt Disney Studios Chairman Alan Horn. “It’s rare to have such a perfect combination of director, producers, actor and role, and we couldn’t be more excited to embark on this adventure with Harrison and Steven.”
