Game of Thrones Characters Rumoured to Join Season 6 (and Who We Think Should Play Them)

If rumours surrounding Game of Thrones’ sixth season cast are true, we’d like to offer a few suggestions as to which actors are best suited for the assumed roles.

Despite cryptic character descriptions leaked online, fans were able to come up with realistic predictions for who might be leaping from page to screen next season.

We don’t want to get too ahead of ourselves, but it’s important for HBO to know who we think should play these potential future favourites. Here’s hoping we persuade them with an idea or two.

Euron Greyjoy

Uncle to Theon Greyjoy, Euron has the characteristics of a villain, but remains a lord no less. In his assumed casting write-up, Euron is referred to as “Pirate.”

The internet is already buzzing about Mads Mikkelsen being cast as Euron, and we have to say: he’d be a fine choice. But if he is cast, it better not interfere with shooting Hannibal. It’s been a long winter without Lecter.

Randyll Tarly

Sam takes after his mother, so imagine his father, Randyll Tarly, is the exact opposite of his son. He’s described as “narrow but iron willed” and balding with a short grey beard. He’s mean, he’s a warrior, and he’s probably making an appearance in season six.

Ray Stevenson is a fan-favourite for the role of Victarion Greyjoy, but since it’s never been confirmed whether or not Victarion will ever be cast, it would be nice to see Stevenson as Lord Tarly.

Sam’s Sister

There isn’t much to be said about the role of Sam’s sister. He has more than one, there’s no way of knowing which will be cast, and it really doesn’t make a difference.

Who’s the best person to play Sam’s sister? Orphan Black’s Tatiana Maslany is familiar with playing multiple personalities. Since we don’t know which of Sam’s sisters will be cast, it makes sense to cast someone that could literally play them all.

Septon Meribald

Casting Septon Meribald is very telling as to where season six is headed. Meribald is a travelling Septon that makes his way along the Riverlands providing service for the smallfolk in exchange for food. He eventually runs into one of the key POV characters and helps with their journey.

A Septon is kind of like a doctor, right? What better doctor to cast than Doctor Who’s Twelfth Doctor, Peter Capaldi.
